Christopher Plummer's 50 Years of Movie Career - A Tribute

Plummer's eclectic career on screen began in 1957 when Sidney Lumet provided him his movie debut in Stage Struck. Since then he has appeared in a vast number of notable films which include the Academy Award winning The Sound Of Music, The Man Who Would Be King, Battle of Britain, Waterloo, The Silent Partner, Dragnet,Inside Daisy Clover, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, Malcolm X, Dolores Claiborne, Wolf, Twelve Monkeys, Murder by Decree, Somewhere in Time and Syriana.Recent successes include Michael Mann's Oscar-nominated The Insider playing television journalist Mike Wallace, for which he won the Boston, Los Angeles, Chicago, Las Vegas and the National Critics Awards, and Ron Howard's Academy Award winning A Beautiful Mind as well. He played Arthur Case in Spike Lee's 2006 film Inside Man. Owing to the box office success and continued popularity of The Sound Of Music, Plummer is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Captain Von Trapp.

• الممثل الشكسبيرى كريستوفر بلومير ، نشأ فى قرية سينيفيل – كيبيك – كندا ، هو حفيد رئيس الوزراء الكندى السابق السير جون أبوت والدته ازابيلا مارى ، والده جون اورم بلومير الذى كان سكرتيرا لكلية العلوم فى جامعة ماكجيل ،انفصلا والديه بعد فترة قصيرة من ولادته ،بدأ التمثيل فى الثانوية ، مشواره الفني يمتد على مدى خمسة عقود، ويشمل أدوار كبيرة في كل من الفنون الدرامية، أشتهر بلامر بأدائة الشكسبيرى المحترف، حصل على سى.سى (رفيق كندا)لقائمة الشرف للملكة عام 1968، حصل على درجة الدكتوراة الفخرية فى القانون من جامعة ويسترن اونتاريوفى عام 2004 . تدرب على عزف البيانو ليصبح عازف قبل توجهه الى التمثيل . انضم عام 2007 الى اكاديمية الفنون و العلوم السينمائية .كما انضم عام 2007 الى AMPAS.
